Naruto and Guren help each other from the hungry offspring of the Three-Tails, and commend one another for Naruto’s chivalry and Guren’s will to survive and fight while badly injured. Rinji’s men attack Lee’s group with stronger attacks they couldn’t use before. Yūkimaru and Kakashi devise a plan to track the Three-Tails with the boy’s power, create an opening in the beast’s barrier, and gather many camellias to use as a marker for Naruto and Guren to know how and where to escape. Guren confesses to Naruto that she was the one who killed Yūkimaru’s mother and that she felt responsible for giving him a place to go home to, finally making Naruto realize she has good intentions. Yūkimaru plays the song his mother taught him with a leaf right above where the Three-Tails is submerged after Kakashi makes a crack in the barrier; Naruto and Guren hear the tune and blast their way out of an opening leaking water and camellias.
